Our Story

Our story

Wild Honeybee was founded in the spring of 2021 by Amber, who decided to start her own venture after losing her regular job as a wedding planner during the COVID-19 pandemic.

It wasn't the way Amber expected to start a business. Wedding planning had been her world — helping people mark the biggest days of their lives — and losing that work overnight during the pandemic could easily have been the end of the story. Instead, it became the beginning of a different one.

Amber had always loved the idea of turning something small and personal — a signature, a handprint, a scribbled drawing — into a keepsake that lasts. So she started small, engraving pieces by hand, and Wild Honeybee began to take shape as a place for gifts that actually meant something, rather than something bought in a rush and forgotten by the following week.

What we make

Every piece starts with something real — a loved one's actual handwriting, a fingerprint, a pet's paw or nose print, a tiny hand or footprint, even the soundwave of a voice or a heartbeat. We engrave it exactly as it was given to us, so what you're left with isn't a generic symbol of a memory, but the memory itself, carried in metal.

Two very different reasons to visit us

Some of our customers come to us in the hardest weeks of their lives — choosing a memorial keepsake to hold onto someone they've lost. Others come to us at their happiest — celebrating a new baby, a wedding, or a birth flower to mark someone's arrival into the world. It's an unusual thing, sitting at both ends of that emotional spectrum, but we've come to see it as a privilege. Whatever the occasion, our job is the same: to make something that feels genuinely personal, made with real care.

Handmade in Lancashire

Every order is made from our studio in Lancashire — engraved, checked, and packaged by our own team, not sent off to a faceless factory. That's a deliberate choice. It means we can hold onto the quality and the attention to detail that made people trust us with something as personal as a loved one's handwriting in the first place.

Where we are now

What started as Amber engraving pieces alone has grown into a proper studio, with her partner Adam now working alongside her as co-director. We've expanded well beyond our original handwriting pieces into fingerprints, paw prints, birth flowers, and hand and footprints — but the principle hasn't changed. Every single piece is still made to order, for one specific person, for one specific reason.
